STRUT SHOCK REPLACEMENT
It isn't difficult to do this job. As
usual, support the car, and take the appropriate safety measures.
The donor car is a 1983 Chevrolet Camaro
Z28. Belongs to
chevyhacker. |
We'll start with the shocks. First, lower the rear
seat. |

Lift the carpet up. You'll see two foam pieces in the
corners like the one in the pictures. Passenger side.

Driver side.
Remove the foam. You'll see the top of the shock. Take
the nut off. 13mm wrench and vise grips to hold the top. |
Next go under car. have the car supported by the axle.
That way the shock won't be fully extended. 21mm or 13/16 wrench and socket
to do this with. Between the rubber part of the shock and the shock mount is
a place to put the wrench. That way the stud won't turn on you. Remove shock
and install new one. Reverse the procedure and you're done. Not too
difficult, was it? |
| |
Now onto the struts. A little more difficult. but not
by much. |
